What is FCL SHIPPING?
FCL is short for Full Container Loading.
When you need to ship products in large quantity from China to UK , we would suggest FCL shipping.
After you choose FCL shipping, we will get an empty 20ft or 40ft container from vessel owner to load products from your Chinese factory . Then we ship the container from China to your door in UK. After you get the container in UK , you can unload products and then return the empty container to vessel owner.

FCL Shipping Process
Booking 20ft/40ft container space:
We get cargo ready date from customers and then book a 20ft/40ft space with the vessel owner.
Container loading:
We pick up the empty container from the Chinese port and send it to the Chinese factory for cargo loading. This is the main container loading way. Another way is that factories send products to our nearest warehouse and we load all the cargo into a container there. After container loading, we will truck the container to the Chinese port.
Chinese customs clearance:
We will prepare Chinese customs docs and make Chinese customs clearance. For the special cargo, like solid wood cargo, it need to be fumigated. Like the cargo with batteries, we need to prepare the MSDS document.
Getting on board:
After Chinese customs release, the Chinese port will get the container onto the booked vessel and ship the container from China to UK as per the shipping plan. Then we can trace the container online
UK customs clearance:
After vessel departs from China, we will work with your Chinese factory to make commercial invoice and packing list etc to prepare UK customs docs. Then we will send the vessel name, container details and necessary docs to DAKA’s UK agent. Our UK team will monitor the vessel and contact consignee to make UK customs clearance when the vessel arrives at the UK port.
UK inland delivery to door:
After the vessel arrives at the UK port, we will deliver the container to the consignee’s door in UK. Before we deliver the container, our UK agent will confirm the delivery date with consignee so that they can prepare for unloading. After the consignee gets the cargo in hand, we will return the empty container to UK port. In the meantime, we will confirm with our clients if products are in good condition.

Few tips before you use FCL shipping
1. The more cargo were loaded into a container, the lower average shipping cost on each product. Before you decide to choose FCL shipping, you need to check with your shipping agent like DAKA if there is enough cargo for 20ft/40ft to minimize the shipping cost. When you use FCL shipping, we charge the same no matter how much cargo you loaded in the container.
2. You also need to consider if your destination address has enough place to hold a 20ft or 40ft container. In UK, many customers live in non-business areas and containers can’t be delivered. Or the consignee needs to get the local government’s agreement in advance. In that case, when the container arrives at the UK port, the container needs to be sent to our UK warehouse for unpacking and then deliver in loose packages via normal trucking. But kindly remind that it will cost more than sending a container directly to a UK address.

What is LCL shipping?
LCL shipping is short for Less than Container Loading.
Different customers share a container from China to UK when their cargo is not enough for a whole container. LCL is very suitable for small but not urgent shipments. Our company starts from LCL shipping so we are very professional and experienced. LCL shipping can meet our goal that we are committed to international shipping in the safest and most efficient way.
When we handle LCL shipping from China to UK, first we will get cargo from Chinese factories to our Chinese LCL warehouse. Then we will load all different products into a container and ship the container form China to UK by sea.
After vessel arrives at UK port, Our UK agent will pick up the container from UK port to our UK warehouse. Chinese customs clearance:
We will make Chinese customs clearance for each customer’s products separately.
Container loading:
After we got the Chinese customs release, we will pick up the empty container from the Chinese port and load different customers’ products in. Then we send the container back to the Chinese port and wait for the booked vessel.
Vessel departure:
The Chinese port staff will coordinate with the vessel operator to get the container on board and ship it from China to UK.
UK customs clearance:
After the vessel departs, we will coordinate with our UK team to prepare for UK customs clearance for each shipment in the container. Usually, our UK team will clear the cargo before the vessel arrives at the UK port. If not, there will be risk of a random customs hold due to late lodgment of customs entry.
UK container unpacking:
After the vessel arrives at the UK port, we will get the container to the UK warehouse. My UK team will unpack the container and separate each customer’s cargo.
UK inland delivery:
Once the cargo is available, Our UK team will contact consignee in advance to confirm the delivery date and book the truck to deliver the cargo in loose packages to consignee’s door.

Few Tips when we use LCL shipping
When you use LCL shipping, you’d better let your factory pack the products well. If your products are fragile items like the vase, LED lights etc, you’d better let the factory put some soft material to stuff the package. The fragile cargo needs to cross several oceans, withstanding fierce waves for about one month from China to UK. If there is some space in cartons/boxes, the fragile cargo may get broken.
Another way is to make pallets. With pallets, it can better protect products during container loading. Also when you get the products with pallets, you can easily store and move products via forklift, which is easier than manual handling.

3. Air freight from China to UK
Two ways of shipping by air
For air shipping from China to the UK, there are two shipping ways. One is shipping by the airline company like BA/CA/CZ/TK, and another is shipping by express like UPS/DHL/FedEx.
Normally when your cargo is a small parcel (less than 200kgs), we would like to suggest our customers ship by express.
For example, if you need to ship 10kg from China to the UK, it is expensive to book separate air shipping space directly with the airline company. Normally we will ship the 10kg for our customers via our DHL or FedEx account. Because we have larger quantity, DHL or FedEx give a better price to our company.
By air with airline company is for larger shipments.
When your cargo is more than 200kgs, it will be very expensive if you ship with DHL or FedEx. I would suggest booking space with the airline company directly. Shipping by airline will be cheaper than by express. And one more advantage of shipping by airline is that there are relatively few restrictions on the size and weight of the package compared with by express.

Booking space:
After confirming the cargo information and cargo ready date, we will book air shipping space with the airline company in advance.
Cargo entry:
We will get the products to our Chinese airport warehouse and wait for the airplane we booked.
Chinese customs clearance:
We coordinate with your Chinese factory to make Chinese customs clearance and coordinate with Chinese customs officer if there is customs inspection.
Airplane departure:
After we got Chinese customs release, the airport will coordinate with the airline company to get the cargo onto the airplane and ship it from China to UK.
UK customs clearance:
After the airplane departs, DAKA with coordinate our UK team to prepare for UK customs clearance.
UK inland delivery to door:
After the airplane arrives, DAKA’s UK team will pick up the cargo from the airport and deliver to the consignee’s door as per instruction from our customers.
