In international shipping ,we use containers to load the products and then put the containers onto vessel. There are 20ft/40ft in FCL shipping. 20ft can be called as 20GP. 40ft can be divided into two types, one is 40GP and another is 40HQ.

How do we handle FCL shipping ?


Booking space:
We book space with vessel owner . After vessel owner release space , they will issue shipping order confirmation letter (We called it SO). With SO, we can pick up the empty 20ft/40ft container from the container yard

Container loading:
We truck the empty 20ft/40ft container to your Chinese factory for container loading. Another container loading way is that your Chinese factories send products to our Chinese warehouse and we load the container in our Chinese warehouse by ourselves. The second container loading way is very good when you buy products from different factroies and need to consolidate them in one container

Chinese Customs Clearance:
After container loading is finished , we will make Chinese customs clearance for this container. We will coordinate with your Chinese factory directly to prepare all Chinese customs docs

AMS and ISF filing:
When we ship to USA, we need to do AMS and ISF filing. This is unique for USA shipping as we have no need to do it when we ship to other countries. We can file AMS directly. For the ISF filing, we usually make ISF docs well and send the information to our USA team. Then our USA team will coordinate with consignee to do ISF filing

On board:
When we finished the above work, we can send instruction to vessel owner who will get container onto vessel and ship it from China to USA as per schedule.

USA customs clearance:
After vessel depart from China, we will communicate with our USA team to prepare for USA customs clearance.

USA inland delivery to door:
After vessel arrive at USA port, our USA agent will keep consignee updated .Then we will book a delivery date and truck the container to consignee’s door . After consignee unload all products, we will return the empty container to USA port as containers belong to vessel owner.

What is LCL shipping ?
LCL shipping is short for Less than Container Loading shipping.
When your cargo is not enough for a container, you can ship by sea via sharing a container with others.It means that we put your cargo together with other customers’ cargo in one container .This can save a lot on international shipping cost.
We will let your Chinese suppliers send products to our Chinese warehouse. Then we load different customers’ products in one container and ship the container from China to USA . When the container arrive at USA port, we will unpack the container in our USA warehouse and separate your cargo and deliver it to your door in USA.
For example if you have 30 cartons of clothes to be shipped from China to USA, each carton size is 60cm*50cm*40cm and each carton’s weight is 20kgs . The total volume would be 30*0.6m*0.5m*0.4m=3.6cubic meter . The total weight would be 30*20kgs=600kgs . The smallest full container is 20ft and one 20ft can load about 28cubic meter and 25000kgs. So for the 30cartons of clothes, it is definitely not enough for a whole 20ft . The cheapest way is to put this shipment together with others in one container to save shipping cost




How we handle LCL shipping?


Cargo entry into warehouse:
We will book space in our system so that we can issue warehouse entry notice to your Chinese factory. With the warehouse entry notice, your Chinese factories can send products to our Chinese warehouse. As we have many products in our warehouse, there is a unique entry number in the entry notice. Our warehouse separate the cargo according to warehouse entry number.

Chinese customs clearance:
We will make separate Chinese customs clearance for each shipment in our Chinese warehouse.

AMS/ISF filing:
When we ship to USA, we need to do AMS and ISF filing. This is unique for USA shipping as we do not need to do it when we ship to other countries. We can file AMS in China directly. For the ISF filing, we usually send the ISF docs to our USA team and then our USA team will coordinate with consignee to do ISF filing.

Container loading:
After Chinese customs is finished, we will load all products into a container. Then we will truck the container from our Chinese warehouse to Chinese port.

Vessel departure:
The vessel owner will get the container onto vessel and ship the container from China to USA according to shipping plan.

USA customs clearance:
After vessel depart from China and before vessel arrive at USA port, we will coordinate with our customers to prepare USA customs docs. We will send these docs to our USA team and then our USA team will contact the consignee in USA to make USA customs clearance when the vessel arrive.

Container unpacking:
After vessel arrive at USA port, we will pick up the container from USA port to our USA warehouse. We will unpack the container in our USA warehouse and separate each customer’s cargo.

Delivery to door:
Our USA team will contact the consignee in USA and deliver the cargo to door.

3. Air freight from China to USA

4. Shipping to USA Amazon
Shipping to USA Amazon can be both by sea and by air . For sea shipping we can use FCL and LCL shipping. For air shipping we can ship to Amazon both by express and by airline.
There are 3 main difference when we ship to Amazon:
1. Amazon can not work as consignee on all shipping or customs docs. According to US customs law, Amazon is just a platform and not the real consignee. So Amazon can not work as consignee to pay USA duty/tax when cargo arrive at USA. Even though when there is no duty/tax to be paid , Amazon still can not work as consignee. This is because when some illegal products come to USA, Amazon is not the one who imported these products so Amazon will not take the responsibility. For all shipments to Amazon, the consignee on all shipping/customs docs must be a real company in USA who actually import.
2. Amazon shipping label is required before we send products to Amazon. So when we start shipping from China to USA Amazon, it is better that you create the Amazon shipping label in your Amazon shop and sent it to your Chinese factory. So that they can put the shipping label onto boxes . That is something we need to do before we start shipping.
3. After we finish USA customs clearance and get ready for delivering the cargo to USA amazon, we need to book delivery with Amazon. Amazon is not a private place that can accept your products anytime. Before we make delivery, we need to book with Amazon. That is why when our customers ask us when we can deliver the cargo to Amazon, I would like say it is about May 20th(fox example) but subject to final confirm with Amazon.
